Distractions

There's a lot of chaos and uncertainty right now.

But your life is still your life.

Is it your personal purpose to solve immigration, prevent climate change, and save the economy?

Probably not… Especially if you are the CEO of a business.

Your purpose is to lead the mission of whatever your company does.

But how much of your bandwidth is seduced by the current noise that surrounds our lives? And how much is it distracting you from achieving your goals?

Likely more than you want to admit. And, the clearest way to tell is:

  1. You feel triggered and agitated
  2. You’ve set goals that you aren’t achieving
  3. You find yourself creating or consuming content that isn’t relevant to your business, your clients, and/or your life purpose.

If this resonates, follow these 3 steps to turn things around.

Step #1 - Get off social media.

The truth is that the world is rowdy and people are gnarly. We have always battled, created war, discriminated, and abused each other.

The problem for us currently is that the knowledge and awareness of what is going on is super prevalent because of social media — so everything feels like our issue. And, because social media is so sticky it is being used by people mainly to manipulate each other, not solve these issues in a meaningful way.

All the noise creates a lot of fear and worry. It may not be the way you want the country to be run — AND you are still here to create your life the way you want. Focus on that.

Step #2 - Get clear on what you want.

Take some real time and do your best to get clear on what you actually want. Not what people on social media are telling you to want or do, but what you really want to accomplish.

Want to have a couple more clients, earn more revenue, improve your relationships, have more friends, be a better parent, create a better team, buy a new truck, go on vacation? Write that desire down and use your imagination to visualize it.

Set a clear goal!

Create a vivid image… Focus on that vision. Hold it with feeling & gratitude.

Then change who you are being and take action.

Step #3 - Become a creator, not a victim

The Law of Cause and Effect can help you create anything you want in your life.

But let’s be honest: political handwringing is not a cause of the effects you want in your life — whether those outcomes are political or personal or business-oriented.

What you want doesn’t change from being a victim on social media. It happens based on Cause & Effect!

And, if you do want to work on those larger political issues then you can use these same steps.

***

This is ultimately about you taking your power back. Taking it back from politicians, from your story, from your parents, from other people, from your circumstance.

Take your power back, claim your sovereignty, and work to create the result you want. Get to work.

Don’t get distracted by what other people want.

Slay your own dragons. Do the inner work. Build your skills. Quit being distracted. Stay focused on you, your friends, your family, your community. Politicians and their agendas? Let it go. Go do your own thing. Build the beautiful life that you desire and that is here for you. Create, Build, Live.

Do that and that’s how you’ll change the world.
